    Day Three – Macon GA

    • Following breakfast this morning, we will have a tour of the First Girl Scout Headquarters & the Andrew Low House Museum. The Girl Scout Headquarters formerly the carriage house for Juliette Gordon Low’s adult home, which is currently called the Andrew Low House, was willed to the Girl Scouts of Savannah, GA, Inc. upon her death in 1927. The building has served Girl Scouts longer than any other building in the nation. Girl Scout First Headquarters was declared Savannah’s first National Historic Landmark. The Andrew Low House is a masterclass in 19th-century architecture and grace. Built by Scottish immigrant and wealthy cotton merchant Andrew Low for his wife Mary Cowper Stiles Low and their six children, this stately mansion is more than just a historic site: it’s a beautifully preserved window into Savannah’s past.
    • Depart for Macon, Georgia, nestled in the heart of the state, it is a city rich in history and Southern charm. Renowned for its antebellum architecture, Macon is a treasure trove of historic sites.

Throughout the production we meet Peter, an exterminator, who is holding out hope for a reconciliation with his soon-to-be ex-wife Rachel, and his eighty-two-year-old mother Beatrice, who lives with him, has a deep dislike of Rachel, an intense need to protect her son, an addiction to home shopping television, and a serious romance with eighty-seven-year-old Alfred. The audience also meets the ex-wife Rachel and Peter's best friend Martin.     As the United States prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2026, J.C. Newman Cigar Co. has announced a historic collaboration with America250, the official organization overseeing the nation’s Semiquincentennial commemoration. Beginning next month, cigars hand-rolled at J.C. Newman’s legendary El Reloj factory in Tampa, Florida, will bear the official America250 seal — marking them as the official cigars of America’s 250th anniversary.

  • “THE CHIHULY COLLECTION” St. Petersburg

    The Chihuly Collection is a stunning, permanent collection of world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly’s unique artwork. This presentation is unique as it is the first installation of Chihuly art in a building designed specifically for that purpose. Designed so that the art and architecture work together to create a visitor experience unlike any other exhibition of Chihuly’s art. The Collection is marked at the entrance by an iconic 20-foot sculpture created especially for the site.

    The Collection includes Chihuly’s spectacular large-scale installations such as Ruby Red Icicle Chandelier created specifically for the Collection along with several popular series works including Macchia, Ikebana, Niijima Floats, Persians and Tumbleweeds, which have thrilled audiences around the globe. Each space has been designed individually to complement each installation producing unique visual experiences. A pioneer of the studio glass movement, Chihuly is credited with transforming the methods of creating glass art and thereby leading the development of complex, multi-part glass sculptures and environmental art.

    A visit to the Morean Glass Studio, is an opportunity to get behind the scenes and observe resident glass artists creating unique works of art.
    From gathering the molten glass from the furnace, to working it on the pontil pipe and glory hole, to its final cool down process in the annealing kiln, you will have a new appreciation for this art form that is centuries old. View the gaffer blowing glass, while the assistant narrates in detail the science behind glass, the artistic vision guiding the process and all the steps involved as the work is being produced.
    All the pieces created are for sale in the Glass Studio Store conveniently located adjacent to the glass studio. Inside you will find a wide variety of art glass including jewelry, bowls, vases, ornaments and more.
