As you approach the building, you can’t help but feel a childlike excitement bubbling up inside you. Parked out front is a sleek, blue sports car that looks like it just zoomed out of a Hot Wheels package. It’s as if the museum is saying, “Hey, grown-ups! Remember when you used to make ‘vroom vroom’ noises? Well, here’s the real deal!” As you step inside, prepare for your jaw to drop faster than a Slinky down a staircase. One of the first things you’ll notice is the impressive collection of vintage lunch boxes. These aren’t just containers for PB&J sandwiches; they’re time capsules of pop culture. From the Flintstones to the Fonz, each one is a snapshot of a different era, telling stories of favorite TV shows, movies, and characters that defined childhoods across generations. You might find yourself saying, “I had that one!” more times than you can count. This isn’t just any old museum; it’s a treasure trove of memories, a playground for the young at heart, and a paradise for anyone who’s ever uttered the words, “They don’t make ’em like they used to.”
It’s like someone took your childhood toy box, multiplied it by a thousand, and then organized it with the precision of a Tetris master.

Driving Miss Daisy is a captivating, heartwarming journey that brings together two unforgettable characters—Daisy Werthan, a feisty Jewish widow, and Hoke Colburn, her wise and patient African American chauffeur. Set in the racially charged American South, this poignant and powerful play explores themes of friendship, race, and personal growth with humor, emotion, and unexpected twists. As Daisy and Hoke’s relationship transforms over time, their story delivers a profound message of tolerance, resilience, and the beauty of connection. Written by Alfred Uhry, the play was inspired by Uhry's grandmother, Lena Fox, her chauffeur, Will Coleman, and his father. His grandmother, a Jewish woman who lived in Atlanta during the 1960s, had to give up driving after a car accident, and hired Coleman, who drove her for 25 years.

Lake Placid is an interesting small town proud of its chief product, brilliantly colored caladiums. The Lake Placid Caladium Festival will offer arts and crafts, a beer garden, food booths, entertainment and an antique and classic car and bike show. There is a schedule of entertainment that includes cloggers, country bands, classic rock, blue grass and local favorites.
But the caladiums are the star of the festival. You can buy them, and the town will be full of them — a local grower donates thousands of caladium bulbs to decorate the city.If you’re a gardener in South Florida, you know caladiums as those summer plants with vividly colored leaves in shades of red, white and pink. The big leaves come in various shapes and add color to gardens when it’s too hot to grow much else. There are more than 40 varieties of caladiums.
Bus Tour of Caladium Fields - We will get an up-close view of the Caladium fields, with a step aboard tour on our air-conditioned motor coach bus. The tours, led by local growers, offer up a lively discussion of the industry as well as question and answer sessions on a wide range of topics.
