Everyone knows the MGM classic Singin’ in the Rain starring Gene Kelly, Donald O’Connor, and Debbie Reynolds. Once released, the film was lightning in a bottle – but during production it was all chaos as Gene Kelly navigated studio politics, dwindling resources, and his own complicated love triangle. Kelly was determined to keep both his longtime collaborator Stanley Donen and trusted assistant Jeanne Coyne on set... despite the fact that they'd just divorced, and the torch Coyne carried for Kelly was the reason why. To top it off, their newly hired co-star Debbie Reynolds couldn’t even dance. One of the greatest movie musicals of all time is born in this intimate backstage play featuring the iconic music, songs, and dance of golden-age Hollywood. DINNER stop after the show at Bahama Breeze (OYO).

Forget about the shark. It turns out the most dangerous thing about Jaws was all the unresolved daddy issues. At least that's the big takeaway from The Shark Is Broken, a clever behind-the-scenes comedy.
The play essentially tells the tale of three men stuck on a boat. But these aren't just any three ordinary men. And this is no ordinary boat. All the action takes place on the world's most famous lobster vessel, the Orca, as actors Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw wait out filming delays on Jaws due to malfunctioning mechanical sharks. They're an odd bunch, these three. Dreyfuss, all neurotic paranoia. Shaw, the domineering Alpha. And Scheider, the calming influence trying to keep the other two from killing each other. Being stuck on the boat is presented as some form of intolerable torture — for audiences, it's definitely a wild ride worth taking.
