  • “OKLAHOMA” – Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre Ft Myers

    The first musical written by the duo Rodgers and Hammerstein. The musical is based on Lynn Riggs' play Green Grow the Lilacs, which appeared on Broadway in 1931. Originally titled Away We Go! Renamed Oklahoma! the musical opened on Broadway at the St. James in 1943. Set in the Oklahoma Territory in 1906, just before Oklahoma was admitted as a state. The musical dramatizes the courtship of a young farm girl named Laurey and a brash, self-assured cowboy named Curly.     • VISCAYA MUSEUM/MANSION & GARDENS
    • The Main House with timeless Mediterranean-style architecture, and collections dating from the early 20th-century all the way back to Pompeii, Vizcaya’s Main House was the jewel of a fledgling Miami. The rooms in the Main House were designed around pieces of furniture, paneling and architectural elements such as gates and fireplaces. Every object contributes to the decorative context of the room in which it resides. As such, the objects and interiors played an important role in determining the architecture of the house.
    • The Gardens - Vizcaya’s European-inspired gardens are among the most elaborate in the United States. Reminiscent of gardens created in seventeenth- and eighteenth-century Italy and France, the overall landscape design is conceived as a series of rooms.
    • The central space is dominated by low hedges, or parterres, in a geometric arrangement. Beyond that are the evocative Secret Garden, the intimate Theater Garden, the playful Maze Garden and the once-watery domain of the Fountain Garden.
