    The Tampa Bay Rays return to Tropicana Field for the 2026 season with an exciting 81-game home schedule that kicks off April 6 against the Chicago Cubs. The Rays will begin their 29th season by hitting the road to battle the Cardinals, Milwaukee Brewers, and Minnesota Twins. This marks just the second time since 2010— and only the second in 17 seasons— that the Rays will open on the road.

On the Gulf observation deck on the second floor, turn the pages of an enchanted book on the adventures of Mote’s founding “Shark Lady.” Then venture down to the first floor to watch large sharks, rays and sea turtles glide over your head in our 400,000-gallon Gulf habitat.  Touch and even feed our stingrays and explore Mote science on an interactive globe.

    Mote scientists study oceans around the world. Follow us to Indo-Pacific waters and meet stunning reef sharks, colorful corals, and touchable sea stars, anemones and more. Be prepared for exciting surprises, including species never shown at Mote. Discover how Mote scientists are saving imperiled coral reefs and reef sharks.

    When rain falls in Florida and flows down to the sea, what amazing animals will it meet along the way? Manatees, otters, an alligator snapping turtle, a gopher tortoise and other iconic Florida species await you in this gallery celebrating Mote Marine Laboratory science in our Florida backyard.

    Near the Florida Waters Gallery, inside the Mote SEA atrium, discover our Tech in the Depths exhibit featuring the ocean technology that allows Mote scientists to explore and sample oceans from the surface to thousands of feet deep. Mote is proud to partner with Florida Power & Light for the Pine Flatwoods Exhibit in the Florida Waters Gallery.

    At Mote SEA, Science is the Attraction! Visitors can glimpse science in action through windows into our five STEM Workforce Development Labs on the second and third floors: the Aquaculture Lab, Conservation Lab, Coral Lab, the Veterinary Clinic & Diagnostic Center, and the Artificial Intelligence Marine Science Center. In these labs, interns and program participants including high school, undergraduate and graduate students, will gain technical skills, increase science literacy and participate in career-building opportunities by assisting Mote scientist mentors with their ongoing research.
