Founded in Tampa’s historic Ybor City in 1905, by Cuban immigrant Casimiro Hernandez, Sr., the Columbia Restaurant is Florida’s oldest restaurant, and the largest Spanish restaurant in the world. Family-owned and operated for more than 114 years, the restaurant has earned acclaim for old-world charm as well as for its award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine and wine list.
The Columbia Restaurant Dance Troupe brings the culture and dance traditions of Spain to Ybor City as a complement to the internationally acclaimed Spanish cuisine of the Columbia Restaurant. Experience the Fire of Flamenco! The flamenco, consisting of rhythmic dance steps performed on a hard wood floor, originated with the Spanish Gypsies, and has evolved through the years to the more structured form familiar today. The classical Spanish dances consist of ballet moves in colorful Spanish costumes accompanied by the distinctive sound of castanets. The passion of the dance will transport you to the famous flamenco cafes of Barcelona and Madrid.
